As a third year Computer Science and Engineering student at TU Delft, I am excited to be a Part-time Software Engineer at Forze Hydrogen Racing Team XIX. I have always been drawn to the high-performance systems and the thrill of motorsport, and I think that this position at Forze allows me to make the most of my skills by working on the Forze IX.

My position as a Software Engineer involves tackling different parts of the embedded system, in order to make sure that all components are well integrated and tested. This includes writing low-level drivers for new hardware and updating existing control logic to meet the team’s performance needs. I have to prioritise creating robust, fast and intuitive software, which is vital not just for system reliability but also for enabling efficient testing and analysis.

The most rewarding part of this role is seeing the team’s work come together in the form of an innovative hydrogen race car. It’s a steep but satisfying learning curve to work with the embedded system of the car in a team full of motivated students. My goal is to contribute to Forze’s mission by pushing the boundaries of hydrogen powered mobility on the track.
