Before Forze, I graduated from the University of Twente with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. During my studies, I already knew I wanted to work on automotive-related projects, preferably one related to motorsport. Forze Hydrogen racing gave me the opportunity to do so, whilst putting my skills obtained throughout my study to the test.

As a Mechanical Engineer my main responsibilities revolve around gearbox-related systems, as well as weight optimization and making sure the car is overall structurally sound. Next to that I also ensure that additional parts from other departments are properly and safely connected to the car, either by simple fasting or by additional part design like brackets.

What I find most rewarding and satisfying about my role is seeing a project evolve into a finished product.

From generating the first concepts and modelling them in CAD and ensuring their functionality with FEA simulation to optimizing their manufacturing process and assembly. Having physical evidence of the time and hard work you put into a project and integrating it into the car, truly gives me an incredible feeling of accomplishment and joy.
