Being a second year Aerospace Engineering student from the TU Delft, I was excited to be given the opportunity to be the part-time Aerodynamics engineer for Team XIX. This position gives me the ability to continue pursuing my degree, whilst simultaneously being able to apply and develop my skills in the field of aerodynamics and motorsport, both of which I am incredibly passionate towards.

As an aerodynamics engineer, I am tasked with designing and fabricating upgrade packages for the F9's aerodynamic surfaces. As well as optimizing existing components with regards to weight and aerodynamic drag or another specified objective. This includes then entire production process from the design concepts and 3d models, to CFD and track tests, to the production and assembly of aerodynamic components.

The ability to apply theoretical knowledge into "real-world" situations and using that knowledge to try and achieve the team objectives is incredibly enjoyful and rewarding. Especially with the ability to collaborate with and learn from other disciplines and engineers within the team which gives me the ability to learn and grow my applied and theoretical skills in a variety of fields while working on the cutting edge of motorsport and hydrogen technologies.
